"kratu" is a Sanskrit term meaning 'Divine' or 'intelligent' plan. KRATU Wellness will work with you to create a thoughtful action plan uniquely tailored to your lifestyle, needs, and wellness goals, based in the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.
Who is KRATU Wellness? Katherine D. Rosenthal (Katie), founder of KRATUWellness, has been trained in Ayurveda, Herbal Medicine, Massage, Reiki, and Yoga. Learn more about Katie below. What is ayurveda? AYURVEDA [AYUR = LONGEVITY; LIFE /+/ VEDA = SCIENCE; KNOWLEDGE]: "LIFE-KNOWLEDGE" OR "THE SCIENCE OF LONGEVITY" Ayurveda, known as the "Science of Life", is a 5,000-year-old theory of medicine developed by the same sages who gave us Yoga. It is a way to systematically understand, nourish and maintain our physical "vessel", thereby supporting our body's ability to carry the mind and spirit on its path toward wholeness and enlightenment.
One unique marker of Ayurveda is its "whole-person" approach to balanced living according to one's dosha, or mind-body constitution. Becoming acquainted with our unique patterns, tendencies, and needs is the first step toward self-awareness, self-love, and ultimately, self-healing.

Who is Katherine D. (Katie) Rosenthal?
Originally from central New Jersey, I now reside in Brooklyn, NY. My quest for a happy, healthy, and peaceful way of life for myself and all beings began when I was about 12 years old, and it has been a long and winding road of diverse experiences since then. My philosophy, approach, and techniques are based upon ancient wisdom, mostly in the Vedic tradition, as well as modern knowledge ~ with a touch of intuition, for good measure. :)

What I have found from these trainings ~ as well as other life experiences ~ is that Nature has a lot to teach us - if only we learn to listen. I believe that we can utilize & nurture ALL of our senses ~ every day! ~ in enjoyable ways that promote states of greater calmness, clarity, and balance in our lives and in our Universe. There are many opportunities to cultivate harmony within our Selves, our communities, and with Nature ~ every day! -- we just have to learn how to take the first step.
Ultimately, my mission is to nourish the heart, mind, body, belly, and soul in ways that both respect our planet's amazing natural resources AND promote our own body's innate ability to heal itself & our selves. I have come to believe that only when each of us begins to feel better -- physically, mentally, & emotionally -- can we begin to create, and truly experience, a peaceful world. It is for these reasons & more that I am so passionate about holistic self-care, and Ayurveda in particular -- it is truly the Science of Life, providing comprehensive wisdom to guide us toward greater health & well-being in an accessible and sustainable way.
I founded KRATU Wellness with two major goals: (1) to help people understand their unique physio-psychological systems & how to reach optimum holistic wellness through customized diets, exercise plans, and other therapeutic & healing practices ~ primarily through the wise lens of Ayurveda; and, (2) to empower individuals to take charge of their own lives & health by supporting them in cultivating greater Self-awareness, gathering first-hand knowledge, and practicing daily self-care.
I believe it's possible to take control of our own well-being through self-knowledge, along with some help from guides who can suggest what foods and lifestyle choices may help or hinder specific bodily processes.
